Seek “Vindication” with a new miniseries from Image Comics
The great thing about comics is that they can be about anything. Want to read about some superheroes? Can do. Craving for some pulpy adventure serials? You got it. Looking for a slice of life drama? Those stories can be among the best in the medium.
Besides being a medium that is suitable for all storytelling genres, comics are valuable in that they can be a vehicle for delivering a powerful message. Granted, the desire to “be about something” should not supersede the need for good writing, but when a comic is great art with a relevant social message, that can result in a classic of the medium. Image Comics’ upcoming miniseries Vindication has the makings of a future classic, with its murder mystery story touching upon race relations and justice in the modern legal system. Time will tell if the creators stick the landing, but check out the preview below in the meantime.
VINDICATION ARRIVES THIS JANUARY
PORTLAND, OR, 10/16/2018 — Writer MD Marie and artists Carlos Miko and Dema Jr. team up for VINDICATION, an all-new miniseries coming this January from Image Comics/Top Cow.
In turbulent times, when cops are often portrayed as enemies of the people, Detective Chip Christopher walks the blurred blue line between racism and due diligence in order to do his job. And right now it’s his job to investigate Turn, a young black man with a sketchy past—who was previously exonerated of a similar murder.
Vindication #1 hits comic shops and digital retailers on January 16, 2019.
