First look at Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo’s “Teen Titans: Raven” from DC Ink
For me, one of the most exciting comics announcements this year was the reveal of DC Ink and DC Zoom, the new young readers imprints from DC Comics. I’m all for great content aimed at readers of all ages, and with the talent they have lined up for some of these titles, DC aren’t pulling any punches in terms of quality. The likes of Shea Fontana, Art Baltazar, Franco, Gene Luen Yang, and so many more are involved in various projects. Like I said, quite the pedigree.
Today, writer Kami Garcia released a sneak preview of her original graphic novel Teen Titans: Raven, with a few pages of artist Gabriel Picolo’s gorgeous artwork. Check out the preview and story details below.
Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia, illustrated by Gabriel Picolo
When a tragic accident takes the life of seventeen-year-old Raven Roth’s foster mom—and Raven’s memory—she moves to New Orleans to live with her foster mother’s family and finish her senior year of high school.
Starting over isn’t easy. Raven remembers how to solve math equations and make pasta, but she can’t remember her favorite song or who she was before the accident. When strange things start happening—impossible things—Raven starts to think it might be better not to know who she was in her previous life.
But as she grows closer to her foster sister, Max, her new friends, and Tommy Torres, a guy who accepts her for who she is now, Raven has to decide if she’s ready to face what’s buried…and the darkness building inside her.
Teen Titans: Raven is available for pre-order and will be available July 2, 2019.
