DC's Young Animal titles to end this August

DC's Young Animal titles to end this August

All good things must come to an end... or at least go on break for a while.

In an exclusive report, The Beat has gotten word that come August, DC Comic's Young Animal line will be "put on hold."  That means that Cave Carson Has an Interstellar Eye, Shade the Changing Woman, Eternity Girl, and Mother Panic: Gotham A.D. will all end with their sixth issues.  The only title that seems to have a future in the works is Doom Patrol, though no further details are provided on when that series will return.  Head over to the Beat for more information, including a statement from the line's curator Gerard Way.

From the beginning, Young Animal has been an incredibly bizarre line in the best possible way, allowing creators to tell strange, compelling stories that take place off the beaten path.  Doom Patrol in particular has been a great example of both weird storytelling and progressive world-building, and Bug! The Adventures of Forager may be one of the best miniseries in the past several years.  It was pure Kirby goodness, and everyone could use more of that.

More details as we hear them here at Comics Now.
