Live-action “Doom Patrol” series announced for streaming DC Universe platform

Anticipation is already astronomically high for DC’s streaming service, it’s safe to say. Appropriately dubbed DC Universe, the platform will be host to exclusive shows such as a live-action Titans series, the third season of Young Justice, and a James Wan-developed Swamp Thing series.  Just one of those would be reason enough to get excited, but all three?  That’s just amazing.

Today, a brand new series has been announced: none other than that group of weirdos in Doom Patrol.   That’s great enough, but it will apparently be a follow-up to the Titans series, adding a sense of cross-title continuity.  Developed by Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns, the series has received a 13 episode order.
