DC Comics reveal more details for DC Universe streaming service
When it was officially announced a few months ago, the DC Universe streaming service was met with much excitement. After all, it was going to be the home of highly anticipated original series like Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders, and they even announced that Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol series were in the works too. Not a bad package deal, overall.
With that excitement came some questions, though, particularly regarding just how much content the service would offer. It was being touted as a fully immersive digital experience, so what did that mean? Would classic DC TV shows be included? How about movies? Would there be a way to read comics through the platform?
Based on today's announcement, the answer is "yes" to all of the above. The DC Universe site has been updated with a preview video and gallery, confirming that movies like Superman: The Movie and TV shows like Batman: The Animated Series would be included with the service, and there would indeed be a "curated list" of comics to read as well. In addition, the service will have a back catalog of DC original animated movies, as well as exclusive merchandise available for users of the platform.
No price details or release date as of yet, but this is still pretty exciting. Check back for updates as we hear them, and watch the trailer below (I love the inclusion of clips from the Supergirl movie and the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons in particular).
