Wage war on adorable little cherubs with Image Comics' complete "Death of Love" collection
Unrequited love. Being perpetually single. The dreaded "third wheel." We've all been there at one time or another. While most of us tend to either move on or channel our frustrations into making some incredible pop music, what would we do if we could actually... fight love?
That's the concept behind Image Comics' comedy series Death of Love, which finds the frustratingly single Philo going to war with an army of cupids.
Also, he has a chainsaw. Hilarity will no doubt ensue.
The five-issue miniseries from Justin Jordan, Donal DeLay, Omar Estévez, and Rachel Deering will be collected in trade paperback format this fall, so be sure and pick it up to read about its all-too-relatable protagonist.
TRADE PAPERBACK COLLECTION OF DEATH OF LOVE ARRIVES THIS AUGUST
Collects issues #1-5
PORTLAND, OR, 06/28/2018 — The complete DEATH OF LOVE miniseries—the irreverent action-comedy from writer Justin Jordan (THE FAMILY TRADE, SPREAD), artist Donal DeLay (You are Not Alone, My Geek Family), colorist Omar Estévez (Heavy Metal Magazine, Batman '66), and letterer Rachel Deering (In the Dark, Vertigo Quarterly)—will be collected into trade paperback and available this August.
Love sucks, and Philo Harris—self-avowed “nice guy”—is going to do something about it.
The Cupidae, a cabal of doughy little cherubs that are usually invisible, are responsible for making love work. And after Philo makes a particularly bad drunken decision, he can suddenly see them, clear as day. What’s a perpetually single guy to do? Well, according to Philo, he grabs a chainsaw and goes to war with love itself.
Death of Love will hit comic shops on August 22 and other retailers on August 28.
