Looking at an artists work in a comic book, we can often piece together who their various influences are in their stylistic choices.  The way they approach anatomy, how they stage their action sequences, and unique page layouts can often point to inspiration from another, or reveal the artist to be wholly original.

Brandon Graham, longtime industry veteran, is working in conjunction with Image Comics to release a retrospective about his work, going into his personal style and influences.  Spanning his work in animation and comics, Graham’s Royalboiler: Brandon Graham’s Drawn Out Collection contains examples of his work along with his personal inspirations, shedding light on how he developed his style.  Check out the details below.

ROYALBOILER: BRANDON GRAHAM’S DRAWN OUT COLLECTION ARRIVES THIS OCTOBER
PORTLAND, OR, 07/30/2018 — Brandon Graham (KING CITY, PROPHET, MULTIPLE WARHEADS) will release an in-depth artist’s retrospective collection—ROYALBOILER—this October.

This collection spans Brandon Graham’s 20-year career and includes select cover work, illustrations, drawings from his work in animation, and assorted art, along with pages from his sketchbook, showcasing influences from all over the globe that combine into something uniquely personal.

 Royalboiler: Brandon Graham’s Drawn Out Collection will hit comic shops on October 24 and other retailers on October 30.
