Image Comics’ “Murder Falcon” metal tribute variants have got another thing comin’
Take a look at that cover. Just look at it.
Now listen closely. Shut everything else out and just focus.
Do you hear it, in the distance? The pinch harmonic whammy dive?
That’s the sound of metal, my friend, and Murder Falcon is here to rock.
The first issue of the highly anticipated series drops soon, and Image have just announced that the series will have a run of variant covers celebrating the history of heavy metal. First up is series creator Daniel Warren Johnson’s tribute to Judas Priest, so check it out below.
MURDER FALCON "HEAVY METAL" VARIANTS SALUTE THE CLASSICS
PORTLAND, OR, 09/13/2018 — Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment are pleased to reveal the first “Heavy Metal” variant cover for Daniel Warren Johnson’s MURDER FALCON. Each issue of the head-banging action series will feature a “Heavy Metal” variant cover that pays tribute to a different classic heavy metal album cover. A variety of brutally talented artists will contribute to this variant cover line, kicking off with series artist Daniel Warren Johnson on MURDER FALCON #1 Cover B.
“MURDER FALCON is a series that has a little bit of everything that I love: kung fu, beer, having fun, playing music, and—most importantly—METAL,” said Johnson. “So what better way to celebrate this comic than to homage one of my favorite records, Painkiller by the immortal Judas Priest. YOU’RE WELCOME.”
Murder Falcon #1 will hit comic shops and digital retailers on October 10.
