Kotobukiya has a handsome new Venom on the way

Kotobukiya, maker of many a fine licensed DC and Marvel product, are adding a new take on the Lethal Protector to their arsenal. And boy is it a beauty.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Koto’s lines (or are confused by the names), there are a few of them. Most of the superhero fare falls into one of two: ARTFX and ARTFX+. Now, despite the nomenclature, it is the ARTFX line that features a 1/6 scale (as opposed to 1/10 for ARTFX+) and, in general, far more premium sculpts and paint jobs.

As of today, you can find Koto’s Marvel NOW! Venom in the ARTFX+ line, but come June, you can put such foolish things (and 250 of your dollars) aside, and pick up this gorgeous monster:

Koto hasn’t provided an exact height yet, but at that scale, and given Venom’s pose, I’m guessing it’s probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 inches from the base to the top of Eddie’s head, give or take. The statue is made of plastic, but I have the second-edition Killing Joke Joker ARTFX, and let me tell you, you won’t notice or care that it’s plastic.
