Marvel’s “Spider-Verse” #1 to contain art from fans

This is pretty cool, if it’s done on the level: tomorrow’s Spider-Verse #1 will have a number of fan-submitted pieces of artwork. Three of the submissions are below, along with descriptions from the artists, and they’re pretty impressive. I really like the gothic ballerina Spider-Requiem, and the cyberpunk robot samurai V is right up my alley too. Hopefully we can see some more fan art contests and galleries in official books, because it’s a lot of fun discovering some new talent. Check out the details below.

SEE FAN-CREATED SPIDERSONA ART IN SPIDER-VERSE #1

New York, NY— October 1, 2019 — The first issue of SPIDER-VERSE goes on sale tomorrow, and fans of both Spider-Man comic books and the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film will get to dive into wild new universes and meet the alternate reality Spider-characters that live there! In anticipation of this new series, fans were asked to create new “Spidersona” art especially for these issues, and each issue of SPIDER-VERSE will showcase three of these original pieces!

Spider-Verse #1 will hit comic shops and digital retailers tomorrow, October 2.
