Take a look into the future in a sneak preview of “Legion of Super-Heroes” #1
Next month’s Legion of Super-Heroes relaunch has quite a bit going for it. It has a highly-acclaimed writer in Brian Michael Bendis, a world-class art team in Ryan Sook and Jordie Bellaire, and a beloved group of heroes who are making their long-awaited return to the pages of DC Comics.
To whet our appetites until the issue launched, DC have provided a first look at the interiors from Sook, Bellaire, and Wade von Grawbadger, along with a slew of variant covers. No surprises here, but my favorite is the one with the Legion in the background, looking on in shock as Damian Wayne’s gloved hand rises in the foreground, clutching a Batarang while a Flight Ring adorns his finger. Will Damian get his wish to become a teen out of time and join the Legion? Time will tell, so in the meantime, check out the preview below.
“This harkens back to the original ideals and concepts of The Legion, but The Legion has not existed in continuity of the DC universe as it stands today. This is a brand-new Legion of Super-Heroes.” –Brian Michael Bendis
Welcome to the 31st Century! Inspired by the acts of and lessons learned from the greatest heroes of all time, the Legion of Super-Heroes have gathered together to stop a galaxy from repeating its past mistakes. The greatest lineup of heroes in comic book history returns with new, fresh, and reader-friendly stories!
Eisner Award-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis reteams with master artist Ryan Sook (Action Comics) for one of the most ambitious mainstream comic books ever created! Why have the Legion of Super-Heroes broken the cardinal rule of the United Planets and inducted Jon Kent, a.k.a. Superboy, into the Legion? What are they hiding? And what does it have to do with Aquaman's long-lost trident?
