Celebrating Jack Kirby on the 25th anniversary of his death

On this day in 1994, Jack “King” Kirby passed away.  He left behind one of the the most influential legacies in the history of comics, with a substantial portfolio that is rivaled by very few other creators.

You know who he is, but just as a refresher, Kirby created DC’s New Gods, Kamandi, and Etrigan the Demon, and was the co-creator of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Black Panther, and countless other beloved characters.  His style was wholly original, utilizing dynamic panel layouts, multimedia techniques, and his famous “Kirby Krackle” energy effect.
