Hitch a ride on a Doom Buggy as IDW announce a brand new "Haunted Mansion Original Graphic Novel"
Theme park rides are all about the experience. Sure, the thrill of a high-speed coaster rocketing through dark tunnels or going around multiple loops is fun, but it’s the ones that transport you to another world that really stick with you. That’s part of what makes so many rides at the Disney theme parks so memorable: they’re not just rides; they’re borderline theatrical.
One of the most captivating and engrossing rides I’ve ever been on is the Haunted Mansion at Disney World. While I was late to the game in appreciating the ride (my dad does not like waiting in lines, so it wasn’t until I made a trip where he couldn’t veto ride choices that I was able to finally see what all the hype was about), it’s still one of my favorite theme park experiences ever. Even before you actually get on one of the signature Doom Buggies you’re caught up in the atmosphere of the Mansion, with spooky tombstones, busts, and interactive crypts around every corner. And then the ride itself is just an absolute blast, with an actual story and some genuinely impressive effects.
All this to say that IDW have announced a brand new Haunted Mansion graphic novel, and I am on board. There’s plenty of story there already, so seeing it on the page will make for some nice spooky fun. Check out the details below.
