Brush up on “X-Men: The Seminal Moments” in a new video series from Marvel

Have you heard that Jonathan Hickman is taking over the X-Men this summer? I mean, if you’re reading this, probably. It’s only one of the biggest bits of comics news this year so far. Hickman coming back to Marvel is big enough, but kicking off a new era for the Merry Mutants with the House of X and Powers of X miniseries? That’s… pretty huge.

If you need a primer on mutantkind, or just want to engage in as much X-Men material as you possibly can, Marvel have you covered. Over the next two weeks, the House of Ideas will be releasing quick videos detailing the biggest events in the history of the X-Men. Marvel Launches ‘X-Men: The Seminal Moments’ Documentary Short Series

Celebrate the history of the X-Men as a new era is unleashed this July!

New York, NY—May 20, 2019— With only two months until the highly-anticipated series HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X usher in a new era for the X-Men, fans can learn more about the seminal moments that shaped X-Men history with a brand-new documentary short series, X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS, available on Marvel.com and Marvel social channels.

Starting today through the end of May, Marvel will release the four-episode series online to celebrate the X-Men series that changed the Marvel Universe forever: Giant-Size X-Men, 1991’s X-Men #1, Age of Apocalypse, and New X-Men. Sponsored by this summer’s blockbuster HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X series, these new retrospectives will take both longtime and new X-Men fans back to some of the greatest moments in the Marvel Universe, setting the scene for the most important story in the history of mutantkind.

Each of these shorts will feature voices from Marvel’s past and present – including legendary creators like Adam Kubert, Chris Claremont, Larry Hama, Jonathan Hickman, Al Ewing and more – as they look back and share their thoughts (and inside looks) into the most influential moments that redefined and reignited the X-Men, leading to bold new directions that drew in generations of fans around the world.

X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS Series Release Schedule:

·         5/20 – X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS Episode 1: Giant-Size X-Men (1975)

·         5/22 – X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS Episode 2: X-Men #1 (1991)

·         5/24 – X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS Episode 2: Age of Apocalypse (1995)

·         5/28 – X-MEN: THE SEMINAL MOMENTS Episode 2: New X-Men (2001)

HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X – written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Marvel’s Young Gun Pepe Larraz, R.B. Silva, and colorist Marte Gracia – will build from every major X-Menmilestone since 1963 up through the current X-Men series and storylines fans know and love, including some of Marvel’s most iconic characters from over the decades.

The videos will be available on Marvel.com throughout the next few weeks, and Hickman’s X-Men event begins this July.
