Gunship Thunderpunch: Transformers/Joe alum Brian Shearer goes Indiegogo

Gunship Thunderpunch: Transformers/Joe alum Brian Shearer goes Indiegogo

You may or may not be aware, but more and more comic creators are taking a shot at crowdfunding. Some use Kickstarter, some use Indiegogo, but there are gems to be found on each platform. A year or two ago, I backed Samurai Grandpa on Kickstarter. Last year I backed Bigfoot Bill on Indiegogo. Both delivered high-quality, hard-bound books, and I felt properly rewarded for my investment.

Still, it’s hard to know which projects to back. Some creators misestimate the expense and effort involved, and books go years late, with no delivery or refund guaranteed. In spite of that risk, if a project’s pitch excites me, I’m usually up for giving it a try.

Enter Gunship Thunderpunch.

Artist Brian Shearer has worked on over 50 issues of Transformers and GI Joe. Simply put, he loves robots and ships, and he wants to take a crack at his own property, so he’s on Indiegogo. Here’s a handsome teaser from the campaign page:
