The Amazing Patrick Gleason coming to Spider-Man this summer
DC fans will surely mourn the loss of one of the publisher’s most talented artists, but Marvel Zombies rejoice! The insanely good Patrick Gleason is coming to the House of Ideas, and he’s going to take on its most iconic character.
Jay is at Dallas Fan Expo this weekend, and the news came today out of Marvel’s Make Mine Marvel panel. Gleason will join the Amazing Spider-Man team this summer, rotating duties with Ryan Ottley. Nick Spencer will continue to write the book, and has got to be positively giddy at having such an amazing talent added to the mix. Humberto Ramos will be leaving ASM for now to work on some top secret project, but I would be surprised if we didn’t see him back in the pages of Amazing at some point in the future. He can’t seem to keep himself away.
Here are a few shots that Jay snapped at the panel (including a young Gleason’s attempt at Wolverine and Spidey). I’ve edited the brightness and contrast to compensate for the screen and lighting, but hopefully we’ll see official images released online soon. Be sure to stay tuned to Comics Now, as we’ll be following this one closely.
UPDATE: new, high-quality images and the official press release from Marvel.
