Image Comics’ “Sonata” #2 and #3 both go back for additional printings
An issue going back to print is great, but two issues of the same series? And they’re not even number 1s? That’s absolutely fantastic, and just the case with Image Comics’ Sonata. The second and third issues of the hit series are going back for additional printings, and… well, you know how we feel about that. More printings = more comics, which is always good.
But wait, there’s more! Sonata’s creative team will also be releasing another book soon, titled The Marked. That book will be about magic tattoos and such, which is a winning concept no matter how you spin it, so check out the details below.
BRIAN HABERLIN & DAVID HINE’S SONATA #2 & SONATA #3 RUSHED BACK TO PRINT
Rising popularity of the new series
& anticipation for The Marked takes off
PORTLAND, Ore. 08/16/2019 — Image/Shadowline is pleased to announce that both Sonata #2 and Sonata #3—by critically acclaimed writer David Hine (Spider-man Noir) and artist Brian Haberlin (Witchblade, Anomaly)—are being rushed back to print in order to keep up with the growing demand for the action-packed, steampunk fantasy series.
In Sonata, Sonata travels through a hidden underworld where she discovers impossible science, a giant killer bird, and a young man named Pau, who sees himself as her knight in shining armor. He is also the son of the rival Tayan leader, which makes them deadly enemies.
The buzz for this hot new series coincides with excitement for the creative team’s other forthcoming collaboration, The Marked, which will launch from Image/Shadowline this October.
The Marked may look like a group of cool young influencers, but beneath the designer clothes, their bodies are tattooed with the magical glyphs of an ancient order that secretly protects the world against evil forces. With no new occult threats, The Marked use their tattooed powers solely for the pursuit of pleasure until a young woman called Liza creates a dangerous new form of Hybrid Sorcery.
Sonata #2 and #3 will have second printings in stores on September 11, followed by The Marked #1 on September 23.
