MOON KNIGHT IS COMING TO DISNEY+!!!!
You’ve no doubt already heard, but yes! Yes! At last! Live action Moon Knight! Announced just a short while ago at D23, Marvel Studios will be bringing the Fist of Khonshu to its daddy’s new streaming service. My family was already in, but this makes me a die-hard. We WILL have Disney+.
Moon Knight, along with Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, were listed on a Marvel Phase Four—not five—slide, which means we should expect to see Marc Spector and his internal entourage sooner than later.
No word yet on the rating for the series. Fans of Moonie are probably hoping for an M, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s something Disney wants to take on. For me, they could easily do the show with a TV-14 and still capture the spirit of the character. Considering some of the violence that has been allowed on the CW’s Arrowverse, I don’t think they’d be too stifled.
What are you hoping for? I would love to see the origin story from Moon Knight #1 on-screen, perhaps in interlaced flashback. I would also be sorely disappointed if we didn’t see some Moonie-on-Werewolf action. I’m also interested to see how the show decides to portray Marc’s Dissociative Identity Disorder. I don’t think simple voiceovers will cut it—Jake, Stephen, and Khonshu need to be first-tier characters.
Now that we’ve got the good news, it’s time for the fun part: casting speculation! Sound off in the comments: who do you think they’ll cast to play Marc/Jake/Stephen? Khonshu? Marleen? (Dare we hope) The Werewolf, Jack Russel? I’m too giddy, and haven’t spent enough time thinking yet, but look for my picks here and on the podcast in the coming days.
Yay! I’m so excited!
