Matt gets metaphysical—with Mr. Fantastic—in preview for Daredevil #9

We’ve been pretty happy with Chip Zdarsky’s turn on Daredevil. Speaking for myself (and possibly Jay, too), I would say I’ve flat-out loved it. Even—maybe especially—the current arc, where Matt isn’t in the suit, and most issues are long conversations, has been incredibly compelling, and I can’t get enough. I shouldn’t be surprised, then, that Marvel’s preview for Daredevil #9, which features yet more extended conversation, is the start of another winner. Through Matt and Reed, Zdarsky displays an uncommonly nuanced understanding of religious thought. It’s a credible-enough conversation that I—an elder in a reformed Christian church—can respect. I don’t agree with the sort of conclusions that I suspect Zdarsky moves toward—namely that humanity is the “authoritative text” by which it must develop its own understanding of the divine—but I neither do I feel like the discussion is reductive or unfair. And that makes all the difference!

Anyway, have a look at the preview for yourself, and let us know what you've been thinking of this current run on Daredevil.
