Reports came in over the weekend that artist Nigel Dobbyn passed away on August 24.

Dobbyn was a longtime collaborator on Sonic the Comic back in the Nineties, with his work becoming almost synonymous with the character of Knuckles. He also made his mark on quite a few 2000 A.D. publications, such as Trash, Medivac 318, and Future Shocks. Over his career, the British artist even occasionally worked with publishers like DC Comics and Dark Horse, illustrated adaptations of select Shakespeare plays, and worked on several licensed products like Spider-Man and Ninja Turtles.
